As 1/3 of our unofficial "house mom" triumvirate, I was responsible for the lease signing, money handling, room arrangement, carpooling, and meal planning for a 25-person trip to the OBX the week before our college graduation.

In my senior year of high school, my classmate and I took it upon ourselves to throw a baby shower for our beloved choir teacher, deciding on & delegating everything from the color-scheme and bubble-bath punch to themed games and a guest book, even icing our own cake when the bakery fell through.

One of my favorite things about planning events is that it usually culminates in good food & good company. If (when) things don't go exactly to plan, I always find a way to adapt and make the best of things. After all, the logistics and unpredictable variables are just exciting steps on the way to facilitating great conversations and joyful memories.

My housemate and I began daydreaming about throwing a holiday party as soon as sweater weather set in. As I am not one to settle for wishful thinking, I intentionally composed to-do lists, coordinated RSVPs, and grocery shopped in advance to ensure fun & flawless festivities.

When my good friend got engaged last fall, my immediate reaction was that the milestone deserved a celebration. True to her personality, we kept it low key and intimate, and I considered every detail from the curated romantic playlist to "Happily Ever After" straws to her favorite toppings (fresh strawberries!)

Those who know me know that playing hostess is one of my greatest privileges. I strive to make my guests feel welcomed & valued by anticipating their needs and accommodating their preferences; in this case, that meant serving up some equally cute "mocktails" alongside this giggle juice for my guests who didn't wish to partake in adult beverages.

As an underclassman in college, I was able to join a student committee responsible for planning the high-profile artist residency of hip-hop producer 9thWonder. I learned so much from contributing to & observing the process, budgets, timeline, and promotions for such a major multifaceted event.

I believe you can make any get-together feel special by dressing it up with a title & an invitation- whether it be changing seasons, surviving exams, or a TV show premier, you can always come up with an excuse to gather & celebrate.

In my junior year of high school, many of my friends and I missed our Homecoming dance while performing in a musical. To make up for it, I decided to host a murder mystery party, dedicating many hours to assigning parts, printing off clues, and prepping spooky hors d'euvres & decor.
